Thesis Statement:
The successes of sending the first man into space led to national pride and an increase in scientific knowledge. The failures of sending the first man into space was an increase in conflict between countries, specifically the US and Russia during the Cold War, also known as the Space Race. The consequences were good and bad but in the end increased technology and education everywhere.
